Najam Sethi, the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee, said that the national coaching staff for the Afghanistan series will be announced tomorrow.
In a press briefing in Lahore on Monday, Sethi shared that a couple of things related to the team management are yet to be finalised.
"We are yet to finalise a couple of things. Hopefully, we will announce the coaching staff tomorrow," he disclosed.
Earlier, sources told Geo News that former Test cricketer Mohammad Yousaf is set to be named as the interim head coach of the national men’s team for the upcoming T20I series.
The decision is likely to be taken because the PCB was not able to finalise the agreement for role of head coach with Mickey Arthur.
While talking about the latest update on Arthur's agreement, Sethi said it's still in process.
"We are still in talks with [Mickey]. I have read reports regarding this agreement in the media. A couple of very good questions were raised and I asked them from [Mickey]. We will decide about it as we have enough time now," he reiterated.
On Monday, PCB also announced 15-men T20I squad for three-match series against Afghanistan. Some prominent names including regular captain Babar Azam have been given rest during the series.
All-rounder Shadab Khan will lead the side in the absence of Babar. PSL 8 performers including Saim Ayub, Azam Khan, Ihsanullah, Zaman Khan and Imad Wasim were named in the squad.
